Between hikers it’s only natural to quickly let any barriers down and in this spirit of simple conviviality, walking companions will often strike up real friendships…

For us walking has to mean appreciating and respecting Nature. It also means allowing Nature all the time it needs to reveal its secrets as we hike a trail, a pass or a peak, so it can surprise us and fill us with wonder.

Paths were created by Man to link people, towns and villages. Walking is also the best way to discover that extraordinary heritage of castles, churches, lost abbeys, as well as stone walls, fountains," ksars" and" chortens"…

The Pyrenees taught us to discover the World. Our trips are always created and organized with local people, on the basis of trust and mutual respect, because first and foremost a land is discovered through its people.

The World is never far away when its people are familiar to us ; that’s why we don’t put our trips together like classic tourist breaks.

We try as far as possible, everywhere we go, to invest in lasting local development. For a fair tourism, which is profitable to the local population first of all.

Exporting our know-how as a tour operator, La Balaguère is also a specialist in long-haul walking holidays, from the Moroccan Atlas to Nepal, from Kilimanjaro to the Mauritanean desert.

There are holidays for all tastes, all levels and all your wishes. For all trips and treks of the "1 boot" level, you don’t need to have been in training or to have done it before. These trips have been specially put together for beginners, for people who’ve never hiked before.
